Motivated to Act

I have had the time of my life over the past few weeks – Char and I have been helping a few of our friends with various projects that were simply too big for them to complete on their own. One project, something I’ve mentioned before, was really big; so big in fact that we invited several people that have been part of our home group to come and help get things done. The cool thing that’s happened in all of this is that two of the people who were part of the “big” project, and who are relatively new Jesus followers, are now so jazzed about actually living they’ve been reading and studying in the Scriptures that they are continually saying “we need to do more, we can’t quit now, we have to do more.”  

I absolutely love the connection that they have made between their head and their heart.  They are reading and studying about the ways of Jesus and they have had a taste of what that might look like in the world of everyday life and they are relentless in their insistence that we act on what we know.  If only this approach to faith was more widely held.  

Anyway – for me, this experience has been energizing and hope-filled.  I am looking forward to our next adventure in living our faith as a small but robust community.
